Edinburgh College BSL Courses
A ten-week evening course that gives attendees an introduction to BSL and Deaf Awareness. It is aimed at family, friends, health professionals and carers of those with hearing impairments.

BSL Level 1
A 40 hour evening class building on the communication skills and vocabulary areas covered in the Introduction to BSL course, including topics such as family, occupations and hobbies. You will further develop your ability to take part in interactions using BSL.

DeafAction BSL Courses
DeafAction’s BSL courses are taught by qualified tutors and are ideal for anybody who’s interested in learning or further developing their signing skills.
Deaf Action, only use native users to teach their BSL courses. They offer a comprehensive scale of courses, ranging through:
- BSL Taster Course
- Introduction to BSL
- BSL Level 1
- BSL Level 2
- BSL Level 3

British Sign online BSL course
An online signing course providing a comprehensive introduction for anybody who is interested in learning BSL. You can learn wherever and whenever you like. Study at your own pace and at a time that’s convenient to you. You can access the course for 1 year. Designed to be studied over approximately 16 to 20 hours (1.5 to 2 hours per week).
Ideal for anyone interested in learning BSL.

Heriot Watt University: MA (Hons) BSL
In this four year course BSL is studied to professional level. Students are trained to work as BSL/English Interpreters and Translators and to use BSL proficiently in related professional areas.
