Patient Support Service in NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde

Our Patient Support Services provides tailored practical and emotional support to patients of any age attending hospital eye clinics across NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde.

 

If you are living with sight loss, our friendly team can help with:

  • making the most of your vision
  • the registration process
  • reading and navigation
  • technology and assistive apps
  • benefits and entitlements
  • emotional support and much more.

 

Our patient support team are based in the eye department at Gartnavel General Hospital. Patients who have an eye clinic appointment can drop-in to meet with a member of our team in Room 8 (in Waiting Room B), from Monday to Friday, 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.

 

If you do not have an eye clinic appointment and would like to meet the team at an arranged time please phone us on 0141 332 4632.

 

Face to face support from the patient support team is also available for patients attending NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde Low Vision Clinic appointments at:

  • RAH, Paisley (every Wednesday)
  • Stobhill, Bishopbriggs (every Tuesday pm)
  • New Victoria, Glasgow south side (every Tuesday pm and Thursday am)
  • Queen Elizabeth University Hospital (every second Wednesday)
  • Vale of Leven Hospital (second Monday of every month)

 

Telephone support is available to all other NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde eye clinic patients or call 0141 332 4632 to arrange to visit the team at the eye department in Gartnavel.
