New research collaboration with PROMinsight

We’re very excited to share details of our new research collaboration with PROMinsight.

Funded by The National Lottery Community Fund Scotland, we are rolling out the Impact of Vision Impairment for Children (IVI_C) questionnaire on PROMinsight’s digital platform throughout 2022 and 2023 to evaluate the effectiveness of our support services for children and young people.

We provide a range of tailored services to support people at various stages of visual impairment to reach their goals and aspirations; however, until now, we haven’t systematically evaluated how our services impact people’s quality of life.

We intend to use the findings to better understand where our support services are working well, and to identify areas where improvements are needed. The findings will be invaluable to guide the refinement of current services and also the development of new resources.

Our CEO, Laura Walker, says:
“It’s so important to use a standardised questionnaire to gather high quality data when trying to evaluate the success or otherwise of our services.

Using the IVI_C questionnaire provides real confidence in the results. The IVI_C covers areas that are really important to our young people with vision impairment, and we are excited to work with Prof Lamoureux and A/Prof Fenwick to implement their tool in our evaluative work at Visibility Scotland”.
