Patient Support Worker vacancies (2 x posts)

*Please note applications for these vacancies have now closed*

Working at a local and national level, Visibility Scotland aims to affect positive change and improve outcomes for visually impaired people, of all ages. We want to empower and encourage children and adults to focus on what they can do; not what they cannot.

We now have two exciting opportunities to join our award winning, hospital based Patient Support Service:

Patient Support Worker (NHS Great Glasgow and Clyde)

We are seeking to recruit a Patient Support Worker to become part of a person-centred team within NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde (NHSGGC). The post-holder will be primarily based within Gartnavel Hospital, although cover at other NHSGGC hospitals will be required. This post may also require occasional travel to the Princess Alexandra Eye Pavilion in Edinburgh to provide cover as and when required.

The post-holder will liaise with patients, family members and professionals to ensure that people experiencing changes to their daily life due to a visual impairment receive the correct support at the right time. The post-holder must have excellent communication skills and the innate desire to provide inclusive support to all.

The NHSGGC Patient Support service provides a bridge between the clinic to the community. The successful post-holder will enable seamless service provision, directly referring to other Visibility Scotland services and health and social care services within the community.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a motivated and ambitious organisation. The successful candidate will ideally have a proven track record in health and social care or the willingness and motivation to learn. The post-holder must have a ‘can do’ attitude and a positive team spirit.
