Two exciting new opportunities to join our team!

*Please note applications for these vacancies have now closed*

Working at a local and national level, Visibility Scotland aims to affect positive change and improve outcomes for visually impaired people of all ages. We want to empower and encourage children and adults to focus on what they can do, not what they cannot.

Due to rapid expansion and growth, we have two new, exciting opportunities to join the team at Visibility Scotland:

Head of Operations

We are now recruiting an experienced Head of Operations to help us achieve our strategic goals, drive service development and become part of a dynamic and innovative team. To apply for this exciting full-time post, you must have experience of operations management.

You will have a demonstrable passion for providing and leading person-centred services, and will be skilled in managing and co-ordinating multiple services for a geographically diverse staff team.

This is a two year fixed contract.

Working as a part of the Senior Management Team, the Head of Operations will manage the day-to-day operations of Visibility Scotland services. You will be flexible and adaptable to changing service demands, whilst always commanding a positive voice for the visually impaired community.

You will link closely with the CEO, reporting on service activities and progress. You must be a concise and effective report writer, as production of service reports to the CEO/Board of Trustees and our funding partners will be one of your regular, ongoing tasks.

The Head of Operations will build new and nurture existing relationships with our funding partners and associated professional network, represent Visibility Scotland at meetings and exemplify our commitment to high standards, partnership working and the development and deployment of innovative services.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a motivated and ambitious organisation. You will ideally have a proven track record in operational management in health and social care or the willingness and motivation to learn. Team spirit and strong leadership qualities are a must.

You should be a solution-focused, problem-solver with a confident, resilient and helpful nature. You will be comfortable communicating at the senior level, both internally and externally. The ability to work at pace and manage change are key.

Strategic Grants and Trust Researcher

We are now recruiting a Strategic Grants and Trust Researcher to become part of a dynamic and innovative team. To apply for this exciting full-time post, you must be a creative thinker with the passion and drive to create compelling fundraising bids and reports. You must be willing and able to work under your own initiative and have the organisational and management skills to meet strict deadlines. The post-holder will work closely with the CEO and Head of Finance, while establishing a strong collaborative working relationship with other Visibility Scotland colleagues.

This is fixed term contract until 1st June, 2024.

This role will require the successful candidate to research the fundraising landscape to identify suitable Grant and Trust opportunities that align with the organisation’s strategic aims. The successful candidate will not solely rely on previously gained knowledge; a willingness to identify new funding sources and trends is crucial.

The post-holder will demonstrate exceptional writing skills: concise, creative and compelling narrative, with a strong attention to detail, will be second-nature to the successful candidate.

Information gathering is another key component of the role. Bids and reports must be evidenced by data. The post-holder will be expected to weave service feedback, case studies, testimonials and external research into funding bids and reports to create maximum impact.

The role will suit an experienced, highly organised and motivated individual: one who is passionate about the difference our services make to visually impaired people throughout Scotland.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a motivated, forward-thinking and innovative organisation. You will have a proven and demonstrable track record in successful Grants and Trust applications. Your passion, drive and determination to succeed will shine through. At Visibility Scotland, team spirit is a must.
