Part One: Visual Impairment Awareness

• The different types of Sight Loss conditions using video examples.
• Opportunity to try on “simulation googles”.
• The challenges and barriers people with Sight Loss face.
• Human Rights related to Sight Loss.
• Reasonable adjustments that can be made for people with Sight Loss.
• Aids, equipment, and assistive technology that can support and help someone living with Sight Loss.

Part Two: How to be a confident Sighted Guide

• The role of a Sighted Guide.
• The techniques to be a confident Sighted Guide.
• How to communicate to someone with Sight Loss.
• Audio Description.

Part Three: Inclusive Communication: How to make accessible information.

• How to create accessible documents, social media and emails.
• Understanding assistive technology and how it is used.
• How to incorporate inclusive design into your policies.
• How to create alternative formats.
• Utilising audio description and subtitles.
