Code Jumper - Monday 7th December at 1pm

Code Jumper is an educational toy, which introduces visually impaired children to the world of computer coding. Designed for primary aged children, it is a series of brightly coloured pods with tactile knobs and buttons which combine to form songs, stories and even jokes.

Braille in the Classroom – Monday 14^th December at 1pm

In this session, we’ll be looking at the new learning tables on the BrailleNote Touch Plus which allow younger learners to access the RNIB Take Off Reading Scheme. We’ll also talk about the other key features that the BrailleNote Touch Plus offers, such as downloading books directly from RNIB BookShare – and reading them in Braille in seconds. For Braillists who use laptops with a screenreader such as JAWS, we’ll be taking a look at the new Mantis Q40. It’s a 40 cell Braille display with an in-built QWERTY keyboard.
