Laura Walker

Chief Executive Officer

Laura is a passionate and experienced CEO, the vice chair of Vision Collaborative Scotland, and a Vision Rehabilitation Specialist with over 20 years in the third sector. Laura drives transformational change in the vision impairment sector through a theory-of-change approach. Her career is focused on achieving equitable access to high-quality services.

Laura is driven by her core belief that access to high-quality, timely vision impairment services should never be determined by geography, resource limitations, or systemic inconsistency. The current “postcode lottery” in health and social care is unacceptable, and she is committed to challenging and changing this reality through strategic leadership and collaborative action

She is proud and honoured to have been part of the Visibility Scotland team since 2007, a wonderful journey that she feels has and continues to shape her.

Outside her professional life, Laura is a mum to two incredible teenagers, both of whom are very confident they know best, which keeps her firmly grounded.

Laura loves spending time outdoors, whether it’s mountain biking with two of her amazing girlfriends, or hill running, which always reconnects her with her Highland roots.
