As Head of Optometry for NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde, Shivani brings extensive expertise and experience to Visibility Scotland’s Board. Her connection with the organisation began more than a decade ago through her work with our hospital-based Patient Support Services, who demonstrate daily the difference access to resources and a listening ear can make to people living with vision impairment and blindness.

Passionate about improving outcomes for people with vision impairment and blindness, Shivani joined the Board as a champion of Visibility Scotland’s mission to provide holistic support when clinical treatment alone can no longer meet an individual’s needs. She recognises the important role the charity plays in bridging the gap between healthcare services and everyday life, helping people develop independence and maintain wellbeing.

Outside of her professional role, Shivani enjoys travelling, spending time with family and friends, and embracing new challenges. A keen supporter of fundraising initiatives, she has taken the lead on a wide range of events over the years, including mud runs, colour runs, an abseil, a zipline challenge, a fire walk, and the famous Killiecrankie Swing. She is always looking forward to her next fundraising adventure in support of Visibility Scotland’s work.
