Originally from Wisconsin, August recently joined our team as a full-time administrator based in our head office at Queen’s Crescent, Glasgow. August shares her thoughts on what life has been like since she took up the role in January.

Life at Visibility Scotland

I began my role as the new full-time administrator at Visibility Scotland just recently in January of 2024. During my time here so far, I have been thoroughly impressed with my colleagues. Everyone at the organisation is kind, professional, and consistently goes above and beyond for our service users. The team has immediately made me feel welcome, and I am enjoying learning and growing into my role.

As part of my induction, I received comprehensive training that encompassed not only my administrative duties, but accessible communication and sighted guiding as well. One of the things I admire most about Visibility Scotland is our commitment to accessibility, which is evidenced in everything we do.

My favourite parts of my role so far have been getting to know our service users and working behind the scenes to help everything run smoothly, whether that means creating reports, setting up rooms for groups, or editing our website.
