Training sessions on benefits for professionals

Open training sessions on Social Security Scotland Benefits

We’re running two open training sessions for professionals that individuals can book on to directly. The sessions are free and aimed at those working with people living with a sensory impairment. The information sessions will provide an overview of the devolved benefits available from Social Security Scotland, including:

  • the benefits currently available from Social Security Scotland,
  • the benefits that will be available in the future, and
  • planned changes to the application process for disability benefits.

We are running two open training sessions in March 2021. If you would like to attend a session, please click on one of the links below to register.

19th March 10am-11:30am – Zoom

24th March 2pm-3:30pm – Zoom

Alternatively, if you would like to book a session for a group of staff, please email Natasha Johnston to arrange a suitable date and time.

To find out about sessions for service users, please visit Information sessions on benefits for service users.

What will be covered in the training?

These interactive training sessions will provide an overview of changes to the social security system in Scotland and the benefits that have been devolved andare now administered by Social Security Scotland.

The sessions are an introductory overview covering the benefits currently available from Social Security Scotland (those that have transferred from the Department of Work and Pensions and a number of brand new benefits) and the benefits that will be available in the future, including the planned transfer to disability benefits to Scotland.

We look forward to seeing you on the training.
