Administrator and Digital Communications Internship

The Internship

Visibility Scotland is now recruiting for a nine-month, part-time (21 hours per week) Administrator and Digital Communications internship. The internship is offered as part of the Get Set Progress (GSP) Internship through Thomas Pocklington Trust (TPT).

 

As part of the GSP Internship programme, you will also be enrolled on the TPT Works For Me Employment Programme, where you will gain bespoke employment support, guidance and advice from the TPT Employment Team, some of the skills that you will receive support and guidance around include:

  • CV writing
  • Job searching
  • Cover letter and speculative letter writing
  • Application form writing
  • Interview techniques

 

About the role

Working as part of the friendly Visibility Scotland Head Office team, the Administrator and Digital Communications Intern is the first point of contact for visitors to Visibility Scotland.

 

The role involves general reception and administrative duties, including answering telephone queries and signposting to relevant support staff. It also involves providing direct support to specific projects, such as coordinating event bookings or collating feedback to evidence the impact of our service delivery.

 

This will include accessing service user information, entering information on Visibility Scotland’s case management system (CiviCRM), and calling service users to discuss upcoming events and seek feedback on events.

 

In addition to administrative duties, the post holder will provide dedicated support by creating social media content to develop Visibility Scotland’s digital presence.

 

The role is expected to start in October and last for nine months (approximately June 2025). The role is for 21 hours per week. 

 

What we’re looking for

As the first point of contact for service users and visitors to Visibility Scotland, the Administrator and Digital Communications Intern will offer a warm, positive and professional first impression of the organisation.

 

As such, we seek a cheerful and confident person with excellent communication skills. We need someone efficient and competent at admin tasks with a willingness to problem solve to ensure that services continue to meet the needs of visually impaired people.

 

You should possess administrative skills, be a competent user of Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel, and be an effective and warm communicator.
