Café Cook

The Role

Visibility Scotland is looking for a dedicated and compassionate café cook to join our team. As a Visibility Scotland team member, the post holder will ensure that our weekly Tuesday wellbeing café offers a nutritional, seasonal menu while providing an excellent visitor experience. The café is solely for people with vision impairment and their carers.

 

If you have a passion for food, enjoy working in a community-based environment, and have excellent hospitality skills, we would love to hear from you.

 

Please note applicants must be over the age of 18. 

 

Duties:

  • Greet vision-impaired visitors in a friendly and welcoming manner.
  • Take customer orders.
  • Prepare and serve food and beverages according to established recipes and standards.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the cafe, including the kitchen and dining areas.
  • Restock supplies as needed throughout the day.
  • Assist with inventory management and ordering supplies.
  • Prepare the menu for each café and place online grocery orders.
  • Follow all food safety and sanitation guidelines.

 

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in a café, restaurant or hospitality setting is preferred but not required.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work well in a team environment.
  • Knowledge of food safety practices and regulations.
  • Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays.

Location

Visibility Scotland’s ‘Charged Up’ café, 2 Queen’s Crescent, Glasgow, G4 9BW.

 

Days and hours

Every Tuesday from 9:00 AM to 4.30 PM (hours are negotiable).

 

Pay

£15 per hour.
