Visibility Scotland is now seeking to recruit a part-time (18 hours per week) Patient Support Worker to become part of a person-centred team that covers NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde, Edinburgh, and the Lothians. The post-holder will be based within St John’s Hospital at West Lothian, although some travel may be required to our headquarters at 2 Queens Crescent.
The role is offered on a fixed-term basis to 31 March 2024, with a possibility that the contract may be extended. You will be expected to work six hours per day, three days per week on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.
The post-holder will liaise with patients, family members and professionals to ensure that people experiencing changes to their daily life due to a visual impairment receive the correct support at the right time. The post-holder must have excellent communication skills and the innate desire to provide inclusive support to all.
Our Patient Support service provides a bridge between the clinic and the community. The Patient Support team enables seamless service provision, referring to other Visibility Scotland services and health and social care services within the community.
