02 December

Glasgow Community Group.

Our weekly group enjoys crafting, making and growing together. The group meets between 10 AM to 12.30 PM at our head office: 2 Queen’s Crescent, Glasgow G4 9BW

 

West Lothian Positive Outlook Course 

Week two of our face-to-face session offering advice, emotional support and information for those newly diagnosed with sight loss. The group runs from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Livingston North Partnership Centre, Carmondean Centre Road, Deans, Livingston, EH54 8PT 

This session is only open to people who attended the first West Lothian Positive Outlook on 25 November.

 

03 December

Charged up café.

Our weekly café that runs between 10 AM and 3 PM every Tuesday at our head office: 2 Queen’s Crescent, Glasgow G4 9BW.

Come along and enjoy some free soup with bread and some tasty sweet treats. You can also charge up your electronic devices free of charge.  It’s a great way to meet and chat with other visually impaired people and find out more about our services.

The café is funded by Glasgow City Council’s Community Fund.

Sleep Action Webinar

Visibility Scotland’s next webinar will take place on Tuesday the third of December at 11 AM. Sleep Action will be the guest speaker, and will be covering topics such as:

  • What happens when you sleep
  • The science behind sleep
  • How to get a good night’s sleep
  • What is a good bedtime environment?

A telephone-based virtual support for those needing help and advice on using their existing smart devices.

The session runs from 1 PM to 2:30 PM

 

04 December

Edinburgh Positive Outlook Course 

Week three of our face-to-face session offering advice, emotional support and information for those newly diagnosed with sight loss. The group runs from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Edinburgh Community Rehabilitation and Support Service, 62 Longstone Street, Edinburgh, EH14 2DA.

This session is only open to people who attended the first Edinburgh Positive Outlook on 20 November.

 

05 December

Positive Outlook Course (In Person)

Week two of our Positive Outlook course delivered in person at our Queen’s Crescent office. You can meet others new to sight loss can share experiences and tips with others. The course runs over three consecutive Thursdays. The session is run by one of our Patient Support Workers. The session runs from 10:30 AM to 12:30 PM.

This session is only open to people who attended the first in person Positive Outlook on 28 November.

 

06 December

Chair-based Movement and Meditation.

Chair-based movement and meditation with Kirsteen from New Rhythms for Glasgow.

Wake up for the weekend with positive energy movement and some mindfulness at the end of the session. Please book ahead if you would like to attend any of these sessions.

The sessions run every other Friday from 11 AM to 12:30 PM at 2 Queen’s Crescent, Glasgow, G4 9BW.

 

Digital Skills Group: Android only (11 AM to 12:30 PM)

Come along and get face-to-face assistance with the accessibility features on your smartphone or tablet. Please note that this session is for Android users only. If you are not sure whether you have an Android device, please call our office and they will be able to help you.

The session takes place in our Digital Suite at 2 Queen’s Crescent, Glasgow G4 9BW from 11 AM to 12:30 PM. Registration for the group is required as spaces are limited.
