Glasgow Community Group.

Our weekly group enjoys crafting, making and growing together. The group meets between 10 AM to 12.30 PM at our head office: 2 Queen’s Crescent, Glasgow G4 9BW.

 

Tuesday 01 July

Charged up café.

Our weekly café that runs between 10 AM and 3 PM every Tuesday at our head office: 2 Queen’s Crescent, Glasgow G4 9BW.

Come along and enjoy some free soup with bread and some tasty sweet treats. You can also charge up your electronic devices free of charge.  It’s a great way to meet and chat with other visually impaired people and find out more about our services.

Wednesday 02 July

Wellbeing activity session

Workshop designed to empower participants by providing a supportive space for peer connection, while focusing on building resilience, confidence, self-awareness, and both emotional and physical strength.

These monthly in-person sessions taking place at Visibility Scotland will explore important aspects of mental, physical, and emotional well-being. Topics will include sleep hygiene, nutrition, mindfulness, and stress management, equipping you with practical tools to improve self-care and personal safety. Facilitated by Sharon & Aarti from Freedom & Joy Wellness and special guests, these sessions are designed to be engaging, collaborative and help you to gain new skills and insights.

 

Thursday 03 July

Positive Outlook Course (in person)

Week three of our Positive Outlook course delivered in person at our Queen’s Crescent office. You can meet others new to sight loss can share experiences and tips with others. The course runs over three consecutive Thursdays. The session is run by one of our Patient Support Workers. The session runs from 10:30 AM to 12:30 PM.

Please note this session is only open to people who attended the first In Person Positive Outlook on 19 June.

Chair-based movement session

Chair-based movement and meditation with Kirsteen from New Rhythms for Glasgow.

Wake up for the weekend with positive energy movement and some mindfulness at the end of the session. Please book ahead if you would like to attend any of these sessions.

The sessions run every other Friday from 11 AM to 12:30 PM at 2 Queen’s Crescent, Glasgow, G4 9BW.

Eye T digital skills group

Come along and get a casual face-to-face demonstration with how the accessibility features on your smart phones and tablets work and how they can help you with everyday tasks!

These sessions take place at our Digital Suite at our main office 2 Queen’s Crescent, Glasgow G4 9BW from 10 AM to 11:30 AM. Registration for the group is required as spaces are limited.

 

Wednesday 09 July

EyeCan CYP summer pizza party

Our second annual pizza party for children and young people (up to age 25)! This event is being hosted in collaboration with Freedom and Joy. There will be free pizza, accessible gaming and art activities! Last year was a big success and we’re excited to do it again.

You must book a spot to attend this event. It will run from 12:30 PM until 4:00 PM at the Visibility Scotland headquarters, 2 Queens Crescent, Glasgow. If you are interested, please email families@nullvisibilityscotland.org.uk

Listening Ear webinar with special guest Bowel Cancer UK

Natasha Johnston will be joining us from Bowel Cancer UK. Topics covered include: most common symptoms of bowel cancer, the risk factors associated with the disease, and the importance of early detection. We’ll also discuss the NHS bowel screening programme and you’ll have the opportunity to ask questions.
