When you expand to include people with all forms of sensory loss, the number catapults to over a million. In the wider UK, the number of people with vision impairments is estimated to be over one million, and the total number of those with some form of sensory loss is over ten million.

History and background

We have been supporting people with vision impairment in Scotland for over 165 years. Our evidence-based training programmes are developed by our expert team of qualified Vision Rehabilitation Specialists, communications professionals, and members of the lived experience community.

Sector-leading expertise

In 2025, Visibility Trading and Training was commissioned by the University of Strathclyde to lead on course content development for the Postgraduate Vision Impairment Rehabilitation course beginning in January 2026.
