Overview

Visibility Scotland provides a private, person-centred vision rehabilitation service delivered through our social enterprise, Visibility Trading and Training. The overarching aim of the support is to increase independence and enhance quality of life through education, training, and the implementation of aids and adaptations. All vision rehabilitation is provided by a university accredited vision rehabilitation specialist.

The areas of support include, but are not limited to:

Orientation and mobility

Training includes navigation/ wayfinding, navigation apps, and vision scanning, and it can include a cane.

Cooking

Kitchen training, including meal preparation, recipe-specific shopping, cooking and meal storage. A wide selection of kitchen aids can be demonstrated or implemented.

Assistive technology

Learn how to use assistive technology, which includes software and devices providing digital access for specific needs, such as screen magnification.

Independent living

Household tasks such as laundry, cleaning, household budgeting, and implementing accessible alternatives for energy.

Positive social impact

By purchasing training from Visibility Trading and Training you are directly supporting individuals with vision impairment across Scotland. All training income is reinvested into our charitable services, creating real, lasting community benefits.

For companies and organisations, or individuals using funding such as Access to Work, Disabled Students Allowance, or other third-party funding sources.

Standard private price: £55 per hour

Supported rate: £35 per hour
