Mainstream smartphone applications are increasingly replacing traditional visual aids to support independent living and travel.

Our team is trained to support people with low or no vision to become confident using their existing digital devices, while advising on what else is available and how to use it. We can demonstrate the benefits of accessibility features on handheld devices, such as larger text size, magnification, Siri, and Hey Google. We can also help you activate built-in features and use assistive apps such as Seeing AI or Be My Eyes.

Assistive technology

In addition, we offer one-to-one advice and demonstrations on assistive technology, including digital magnifiers, facilitate peer support technology groups, and provide online consultancy. Our virtual consultancy has no geographical boundaries.

At Visibility Scotland’s headquarters in Glasgow’s West End, we have a huge range of assistive technology through our partnership with Sight and Sound.
